World Book Day 2015!

Poetry Pizazz!

Children from across the federation took part in World Book Day. We had lots of reading and writing activities happening in school. Take a look at the exciting events that took place and if you’re passing school pop in and have a look at our Poetry Display showcasing many of the poetry entries for the writing competition.

Poetry Writing Competition

Over February Half Term we held a poetry writing competition, asking children to write a poem based around our British Values. We were astounded by the quality of the entries into the competition from children in each year group. The winning poems from each class were awarded with a book token to the value of £5 and the runner up in each class were each presented with a Poetry Book; we hope you enjoy reading them. All poems entered into the competition can be found below and many are displayed in school. Well done everyone for a fantastic effort.

Poetry Slam!

This year’s World Book Day saw our first ever Poetry Slam competition. Each class took poems to learn and had time in class and outside school to learn their poems ready for a class performance. Each class voted for their favourite recitals.

The judges were given a difficult task in just choosing one winning performance and a runner up for each class.

I think you’ll agree we’ve got some real talent in our school. Well done everyone for your entertaining performances and bravery in getting up to share your work with others. I can’t wait for next year!!
